Atharv as of today

Atharv has become the cutest and smartest boy ever. He makes us run behind him like crazy. 1. He crawls seamlessly, sits on his own, holds the furniture and walk
2. He loves to play with steel utensils. He crawls into the kitchen, removes the utensils from the utensil holders and throws them at a good distance. He can lift a 3 litre cooker with his one hand. How cool is that? He loves to play with spoon and bowl.
3. He loves to eat and thats makes my and ayi's life so hassle free. The moment he sees his milk bottle, he gets restless.
4. He is currently on his iron drops. The moment he sees that there is a dropper in my hand, he locks his lips like no body's business. So we also do a little trick. Atharv loves when he or anybody sneezes and he starts laughing a loud and excatly thats when we empty the dropper in Atharv's mouth.hehehe
5. I go craczy with him my guitar, my gun, my vegetable basket, my sword, my stick and I play with him. I throw him in air and he loves it. His non stop laughs is to die for. I mean I can give my whole life away, for his laughter.
6. In our typical way, we start counting 1, 2 and he anticipates that we are going to tickle him and he laughs and laughs and laughs.
7. He only says Pa-pa when Chetan is not around. I remember when he said Papa for first time, Chetan was in Sri Lanka for work and he was constantly emailing me asking today how many times did Atharv said Papa.
8. Armed with 6 teeth Atharv bites our fingers and cheecks till we scream in pain and then he smiles
9. When we are in bed, Atharv likes to keeps his head on my back and I love it
10. He eats everything
11. He has awesome grip and lovely hand eye coordination. He picks up ants and kills mosquitoes if they are moving or sitting on the floor respectively. Its a sight to watch when his eyes follows the moving housefly.
12. Atharv is an extremly observant kid. When we go out he watches each and every thing. He get very excited looking at vehicles and he observes the moving wheels very closely. 13. He has now started eating all most everything except sweets and non-vegeterain food.
14. Atharv only cries if he is either hungry or sleepy

Pizza

I think this episode brings smile (and also laugh) on my face. It was quite funny.

Background: Atharv's Dada-Dadi was in Mumbai for a week to spend some time with us during Ganesh Chaturthi. Today we had planned to go out for dinner. But then we cancelled the plan and orders pizzas. Atharv had already finished his dinner. We all were eating sitting down on the floor. Papa and me were sitting on Mattress. I had parked Atharv on the cane chair on my left.

Now, I thought, I should just give a piece of thin crust pizza border (like a papad) to my dear boy. The piece was 4 cms. Before handing it to Atharv, Iwas inspecting whether it has chillies etc. But guess what? Atharv snatched that piece from my hand and put it in his mouth. He then broke it into pieces and ate it to great joy.

We all were amazed to see this. We laughed, laughed and laughed. Then I gave him second piece and he filled his entire mouth with Pizza.

It was so funny that while working on my laptop I suddenldy used to start laughing thinking about Atharv and Pizza.

9 months old

Congratulations you turned 9 months old today.

Ever since you came out into this world, I have become a new person. This person that I am now is a better version of me. I have become patient, loving, compassionate, understanding, responsible, and more focused. All these because of you. You, my little boy, brought out the best in me, qualities that I once thought not part of my being. You made me love myself more. You are the main reason why I feel joy in my heart everyday. You made me understand that I need to be happy; now I have a reason to value my life and my work — you gave me direction, you gave me light, you gave me color. I am falling in love with you every single day. I am looking forward to each passing day, the early morning sunshine, with you in my arms. I have loved you even before you become you. I love you now and forever.

Handsome papa in SriLanka

Checked out the Audi

Atharv and me both missed Chetan when he was in Sri Lanka for two weeks. But he came back; He picked up loads of clothes for all three of us. It was amazing to know that Atharv picked up right sizes clothes for both Atharv and me.

Atharv's first Raksha Bandhan

Rakhi symbolizes the special bond that brother and sister share; close by or far awayAtharv's first Rakhi was quite nice. He had received rakhi from his elder sister, Tara (in Bangalore). Tara sent a very cute letter to Atharv on Rakhi along with small carboard books, a pair of Jeans, Small rubber bath tub. Atharv received all these gifts in advance.
For Tara, when I went to Bangalore I carried lots of gifts for Tara on behalf of Atharv - Cute dresses, one painting kit and one customised Cindrella story book for Tara.
On the day of Rakhi, I, on behalf of Tara did the ritual. Atharv ki arti uthari, Tika kiya, Besan ka laddu khilaya aur Atharv ko Tara didi ki Rakhi pehnayi. Atharv was enjoying every bit of it.
Check out Atharv's Kunfu Panda Rakhi which i picked up from Shoppers Stop. Isn't it cool?
We kept the Rakhi on Atharv's wrist till Janmasthmi.

Its all about you

Last month was really crazy for me but still I try and write something about you on the blog, so that when you grow up you know exactly how you were and kind of things you learnt over a period of time that gave us tremendous joy.

In the month of June and July your achievements were commendable. You got 4 more teeth, making it total of 6. No kid that I knew in my family and friends have got 6 teeth in 8 months.

You are a very very observant child. You have started crawling almost at the speed of light. You throw your toys and chase them. You love eating labels of all toys and clothes. You have started reaching to various things. You have started sitting well without support. You look very lovely when you sit like king supporting your body on the elbow. You have now started learning to stand with the support of long window, chairs and other furniture. Your laughter is very addictive. You love to laugh so much and we go crazy when you laugh continuous. You love to climb on your papa and me. You love my and aayi’s hair.
You have a lot of fun with Aayi. You are very close to her. You like to be with her when you are cranky. You try to chew on her chains and pendants. You pull her hair with all your strengths.

Your looks are changing every month, last month you had fever and your health went down and you lost some weight, we were very concerned. But you recovered soon. Your appetite is still low but I am sure it’s just a matter of time and you will be fine.
My life is all about you my dear boy. I love you the most in the world.

Atharv eats with his own hands

We were delighted today to see that Atharv has started eating with his own hands.
We made him sit on a sheet and served him salad. With his tiny hands Atharv picked up cucumber, tomatoes and beetroot rings and started eating. With his 6 bunny teeth, Atharv strategically (:-) ) cut each ring into small pieces. Atharv then picked up these pieces and chewed them slowly.
After 15 minutes, when he got bored he started throwing the salad every where in the house and stated chasing the pieces.
I have never ever thought a child can bring so much happiness in a family that lights every corner of the house. We wait for Atharv to do something different every day. With a smart kid like Atharv around our expectations from him have gone up..Hehehhe.
In the evening when Chetan and me both come back, we keep asking ayi - What did he do today? tell us more? and then she goes on and on and on telling stories of Atharv.
