Rakhi in Mumbai
Cutest brother and sister...
Rakhi morning we went to Tara's house to tie rakhi, Atharv was all excited. When we reach there, kids first exchanged gifts and then tied rakhi, ate mithai and had fun. Tara loved the watch that Atharv gifted and Atharv loved his cow puzzle that Taru gave.
We had breakfast and went down to play. we played football, hill n mountain, swings and cricket. We came up hungry. Kids took bath ate lunch at 2.30 p.m played again and then we left for home.
With great difficulty I got this shots from my phone camera.
May god bless both the kids.

Funny things my boy does
Mummy Papa had come from Delhi to visit us for few days. It was good fun. We celebrated Their 39th wedding anniversary in Mumbai followed by papas birthday on 15th Aug.
One day Atharv went down stairs to play and dadu accompanied him. After 30 minutes Atharv came running. He was panting as he had climbed the stairs. He came to us and very naughtily said, " Dadi, maine dadu ko upar chod diya." We could stopped laughingly.
When Dadu came we asked him what happened. He said, " Both of us entered the lift and Atharv pressed buttons for 1st floor and 10th floor. When first floor came, he got out of the lift and took stairs and I went up till 10th floor."
Another such incident when Dadu was saying we might come to Mumbai but no sure when thats when our naughty boy says, "Aana hai to aao nahi aana hai to mat aao".

style
I think Atharv will grow up to be a very stylish boy. Whenever he has to go out. He chooses his clothes, belt, shoes and most important cap and watch.
He has got two lovely blue watches and 4 caps. He has unlimited foot wear just like his mom :). Like Mumma like son.

Night Prayer
Two things Atharv never forget after his dinner, that is, to brush his teeth and change into night suit. Once done he asks me to read a story book for him and then he says his night prayers:
Thank you god for the wonderful day
Thank you god for food, clothing and shelter.
Thank you god for wonderful family and friends
Thank you god for healthy body and soul.
Thank you god for everything
Please forgive my mistakes, I will try not to repeat them
Please protect me, my family, my friends and my environment.
Good night god, love you god.
Good night mumma-papa, love you mumma papa
Good night chachi, chachu, taru,
Good night dadu dai
Good night Ayi, Punit mama, mami
Look Mumma..No side wheels
Finally! Chetan and Atharv went to the cycle shop and removed cycle's side wheels. I was waiting for both of them to come home so that we can have lunch together. Suddenly door bell ranged, it was Chetan. When I asked him where is Atharv? He said your boy is such a charmer, 3 girls (Mrunmayee, Khushoo and their friend) are washing his cycle and infact they were fighting who will wash Atharv's cycle?
After few minutes Atharv came up and said, "Mumma see my cycle, no side wheels. There is new reflector and mudflap". He was so excited.
We started eating lunch. In the middle of the lunch, Atharv asked me to open the door because he wanted to speak to Nivu. I opened the door. He ran out and got Nivu and the boy flaunted his cycle.
He took few rounds on his cycle along with Chetan downstairs. I was happy to see that Atharv is happy. Love you my boy.

Effect of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
Atharv was after my life to take him to watch Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. So we decided we will go to watch the movie on Thursday, 18th July 2013 for 4.00 p.m. show.
We entered the hall with a huge tub of pop corn. The movie started and so did my boy with his huge list of questions.
In one scene, Milkha Singh (actor Farhaan Aktar) is holding a mug of milk. He breaks two eggs in the milk and drinks. I didn't think at that time that my 4.5 years son is getting inspired by Milkha Singh and his egg flavored milk.
After three days Atharv demanded at 4.00 p.m. that he need milk with raw egg in it. Even I was enthusiastic about it however the moment I whisked that egg in the milk I was grossing about it. But my gabroo jawan finished that milk in less than 10 mins. Hats off to him and thanks for Milkha Singh.
The episode doesn't end here. He then went downstairs and kept running for 20 mins. I literally had to force him to come upstairs since he was getting late for his class.

Nivedya's Birthday
Atharv has two best friends Viraj Shilotri and Nivedya Menon.
Today it was Nivedya's birthday. Just to wish her early in the morning he woke up pretty early and went to her to wish Happy Birthday. However she was in the bath. He was upset about it. He sulked till he was getting ready and finally when we went down at the bus stop where Atharvs and Nivus school bus arrives he finally wished her. He was going on Praising her - "Nivu app bohaut acche lag rahe ho".
When we came home from school he asked me, "Mumma have you bought a car or an aeroplane for Nivu". Imagine! just because Atharv Arora loves cars and planes, he wants to gift her, his favorite stuff. So I reminded him that one month back we bought a dress, clips, bracelet, necklace for Nivu of Atharv's choice and we will be gifting her the same. He was super excited.
In the evening he went to Nivu's house for celebration. Both of them played for a long time. He came home tired and happy. After all it was his best friend's birthday.

hmmm
You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back.
Parenting
In spite of the six thousand manuals on child raising in the bookstores, child raising is still a dark continent and no one really knows anything. You just need a lot of love and luck - and, of course, courage.
-- Bill Cosby
Well said by Bill Cosby. I completely agree with this. Books give us enough wisdom to know and understand how ideal parenting should be. However every child is different, every parent is different and so are the parenting styles.
In fact the journey of each parent (from a girl/boy to woman/man) is different and how they fought the world to became a man and woman is different. Sometimes these parents came together (and got married) from different region, different background, have led a life with different status, upbringing, and many more things. But there was something common that brought these two individuals together and they decided to spend their lives together and then they have kids. In this case of course the parenting style will be different. But the common bond that hold all three is love, respect, care and concern for each other. A mother is same across the globe. All mothers comprise of a bundle of emotions that sometimes defy reason.
A mothers knows whats best for her child because she is his/her mother. But still I have seen people questioning mothers about their parenting style? Commenting on child's health, making the child feel ill about his health just because he/she is thin, they should blame the parents genes. And worst, compare with siblings. They don't realize comparison only creates jealousy and hatred among children.
Times have changed, parenting styles have changed. Also there is difference in showing concern. One should not make it look like they are questioning the mother and her instincts to raise a child. If something works for your child doesn't mean it works for your neighbour's child. There is a saying-one should never compared his life or kids with others, you have no idea how screwed up their lives or kids are.
So to all mothers and all to be mothers just take a deep breathe and relax. Do what you feel is good for your kid. Please take suggestions if required/necessary, but the joy of bringing your child your way and with your prayers is truly amazing.
Nice lines by Kahlil Gibran
“Your children are not your children.
They are sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you.
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the make upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness.
For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He also loves the bow that is stable.”

Atharv ke bol
Some of the funniest
conversations/lines by Atharv in the recent past:
If someone asks Atharv his name, Atharv
replies in full sentence – My name is Atharv Arora.
The person
greets – Hi Atharv!
Atharv corrects
– I said my name is Atharv Arora and not just Atharv.
If somebody calls baby to Atharv, he
immediately corrects them by saying: I am not a baby, I am a child.
One while I was lying on bed and
answering a call, Atharv comes to me and says, “Mumma utho; padai karte hai,
Bhaite rehnese hum genius nahi bante.
When we try to wake up Atharv in the
morning for his school. He says, “Mumma please sone do na, mein dreams dekh
raha hu”.
My friend Archana to Atharv: Atharv
look at Shreyash, he looks bigger than you.
Atharv: aunty he
will only look big when he becomes a man. He is a child now.
Atharv had gone down to play with his
friends in the evening. Suddenly he comes home crying and says that Mumma I
want to go and watch Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (the movie) right now, you stop
cooking. We will watch the movie and eat out. Finally we watched the movie and
he loved it too.
Aayi: Atharv you should finish your meal
in 20 mins only then you will be chubby
Atharv: Aayi chuby means fat. I don’t
like fat
While travelling to Aayis place in
bhayander during a festive season, there were lot of people on the road.
Atharv suddenly reacts looking at so many people: “Itne log bhyanadar kaise ho
saktey hain. Kahan se aaye hai itne log”
