ONLY ONE DAY TO GO

We got up early in the morning. Chetan and I left to ayi's place to shop for Puja stuff, vegetable, etc. Came home at 2:00pm, finished lunch by 2.30pm. We had to change Atharv's clothes from Benetton (for bigger size) so we left at 3.00pm to Colaba. We reached Colaba Benetton shop at almost 4.00pm. We exchanged clothes and came back home at around 6.30pm. The entire evening we were planning, buying stuff for Puja and setting up the house. In the night before dinner, I was feeling nostalgic. Atharv grew so fast, I miss all the days that I spent with him, when he was chotu sa baby. He grew so fast. It is almost like I delivered him few months back and look at him now! Running around the house screaming, shouting, dancing around, and trying to seek everybody’s attentions. Oh man! Times flies! We were so tired but our enthusiasms were at the peak for Atharv’s first birthday. The day ended at 3.00am in the morning in the bed.

2 DAYS TO GO

Last night we slept at 3am cleaning and adjusting furniture. Trying to keep everything at a level so Atharv does not reach there.

We kept all the crockery’s, glass stuff, show pieces, CDs, DVDs, any sharp things, which is delicate, fragile or dangerous away from Atharv in the kitchen.

We gave order for Atharv’s cake on his birthday

3 DAYS TO GO

Preparations have begun. We are planning to do a Satya narayan pooja for Atharv. We have invited some of our close relatives, friends and neighbours. Atharv's birthday shopping is more or less over. We picked some nice clothes for our little Atharv.

Atharv has become so naughty that I just cannot narrate. He travels each corner of the house with the help of Mooda (which acts as his walker). He has excelled the art now and therefore while crawling also now he uses anything everything. Like he will move with cushion, dupatta, book, plate, donga stand, roti ki tokri anything under the sun.

He comes to bite us on two ocassions: one when he is really angry and other when he is really really happy. He does not need any ocasssion to laugh, if he sees that we are laughing amongst ourselves, he laughs. If someone of the television starts laughing, he does the same thing. His best smile of the day is when I return from office. Its almost an ear to ear smile. His face glows with love and excitment and in case if I ignore him then god save the world, he cries untill he comes in my arms. I love my chottu mottu baby.

Doni hathani pakda kaan

Atharv the best baby ever has learnt so many things:
1. When we say doni hathani pakda kaan (hold your ears with both your hands), Atharv touches his both ears
2. When we ask him to do salaam, instead of putting his tiny hand on forehead, he hold his one ear
3. He loves playing 'give to mumma' game. You ask for his toys n number of times by saying Give To Mumma and he gives.
4. He keeps walking by holding the furniture, pushing chairs etc
5. He loves eating Amla
6. When he has to eat his meal, he moves towards the dining table chair and eats like a good boy. He hates bibs
7. He loves going out to freak out

Festivals of lights - My sons first Diwali

The magnificent five days long jubilation of Diwali celebrations is marked by multi-colored Rangoli designs, special pooja ceremonies, lines of lamps, floral decorations, fireworks, exchange of Diwali sweets and Diwali Gifts that lend grandeur to the Occasions. My son's first Diwali shine with the glow of twinkling diyas to welcome Lakshmi, Goddess of wealth and prosperity.

We decorated entire house with lights and Kandil. There were celebrations all around. The first day of Diwali, Dhanteras was on Thursday and Saturday was Lakshmi Puja. The rangoli design is the symbolic and hence previous light at around 12.30am I started making Rangoli which got over at 2.30am.

Early morning on Laksmi Puja day, we wished everybody. Atharv got special treatment since it was his first Diwali. We visited Aayi's house for yummy Maharashtrian lunch.

In the evening, I decorated the house with diyas almost everywhere in the house. Atharv was going crazy looking at so many lights and diyas around him. I made lakshmi's foot prints and hand prints in the house with vermillion. Chetan was helping in Puja preparation and Atharv was crying aloud, so his Dadaji took him out for a walk.

After one and half hour long Puja, we did aarti and everybody had fun. Atharv was listening carefully. We distributed prasad to everybody.

Atharv hogged on Coconut laddu. Once he quitely went to the puja area, picked up Kaju katli and started eating.

We all had loads of fun.
