Ganesh Chaturthi

This year for Ganesh Chaturthi, we all visited to my Masi's place. The place is almost in midst of a jungle. A hugeeee house, loving people, house full of 30 people, oh what fun! I was very excited to take Atharv. So we reached in the afternoon, met everybody. All my cousins, their respetive hubbys, wifys and kids. Atharv was super thrilled. He was just running around from one corner of the house to the other.

Then our junior saw hens, cocks and chicken in the backyard. He chased them for almost three hours (bare feet). With his little stool, he was running after them and they were running for thier lives. Everybody was so happy to watch Atharv.

Later in the evening, he was amazed by a dolak and he kept playing with it for hours. He used to call me from kitchen just to showcase his skills. My boy, I love you so much.

Next day morning was like competition of taking bath amongst 30 odd people. We all woke up at 5am for Ganapati puja and also to make sure the bathroom is available. All kids took bath in the open. Attached are some random pix. Enjoy Maadi!

Atharv sorry for putting these pix on the blog...But you are looking gorgeous my dear! MUAAAHHH!

You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back.

Atharv's first ever complaint from School

Its 9:10am, I am already at work. Juggling between briefing team and understanding their tasks for the day. My direct number rings. Chetan is on other side of the line, worried, hassled and with formal tone, he asks, I need two minutes of yours. Its urgent. I ask my team members to leave and I continue with the call.
He starts: Do you what your son has done yesterday in the school? I am totally blank and I say, NO. He replies: Atharv has bitten a girl's cheek in the school. The moment I heard that I burst out laughing and I said, How cute? Imagine my little Romeo has bitten a girl's cheek.
Chetan gets serious and said if he goes on bitting girls like this, the school will throw Atharv out .NOW thats a over reaction by a concerened father. On the other side of the line, I was still laughing. I kinda felt it was cute.
The investigations revealed that Atharv was super excited with the song "Gadi Ayi,Gadi Ayi", in his excitement, he bite the girl. :-) :-)
Atharv is his teachers' pet. They keep talking about him all the time. He participates actively in all activities at School. When he reaches his school, he hugs all his teachers.

Lets go to school

Lazy Sunday morning, when evertbody was enjoying their cuppa of coffee/chai. Our little soldier comes out of his room, armed with his school bag and points out to the door and says GO!Go!. Poor dadi had to take him down stairs with the school bag and ball. Both of them played, enjoyed and came back home. When we told this to dadu over a phone, he kept laughing
aloud like a Santa Claus. Let's see if Atharv is equally excited to go to school tomorrow.

May and June were quite hectic for both Chetan and me, since every weekened, we used to visit some or other play group for Atharv. I some how have a feeling that Atharv is fast learner. Just tell him once and he will remember it forever and will immediately imitate you.

After doing lot of research, interviewing and grilling the teachers and heads of several schools. We decided to take admission in Tree House.

Again in June, we visited both the Tree House playschools; one near our house and other in Thakur Village. And we finalised the playschool closer to our house. I like the teachers, their philosophy, their toys, study material, space, etc.

Today we paid fees and from next my baby will go to playschool, to play, to have fun, to make friends, to learn new concepts and new things without getting hassled .

First Haricut after Mundan

So people! The story goes like this.

Mumbai's temperature is rising and has almost touched 39 degress. Its hot and humid. Master Atharv who is highly active, has grown lot of hair on his head and because of humidity, he keeps scratching his head most of the time. Hence there was a need for a hair cut.

Atharv's mumma took him to a nice jazzy, swanky men's saloon for Atharv's haircut. All the men were looking at Atharv (I am sure they must be J, since Atharv is so handsome, just like his Papa). Atharv then sat on the hot seat in front of the mirror but realise that mumma is standing and the he asked mumma to take him in his lap.

Now there was a sanata, we thought Atharv will cry and will not allow the hair dressser (guys not barber ok!) to cut his hair. But like always Atharv is much mature, smarter than other kids, he followed the hair dressers' instructions very well. So well that the hair dresser was also surprised. When the hair cut was done, all the hair dressers clapped for Atharv. Mumma loved that :-). Mumma gave Atharv a tight gakki and loads of kissie.

And oh man! RV looked like a handsome hunk with his new hair cut.

People might have to wait for his photographs because Atharv's Papa is in Africa (Botswana and some other countries). We will do a photoshoot once the camera and papa both are back.

You can follow Atharv's tweet on his mumma's twitter id. Id will shared only on demand.

Stay Tuned!!!

Hidden Things

Atharv has got into a habit of hiding things under the pillow. Anything and everything that he likes goes under the pillow or the bedsheet. Initially it started happening with his toys. Then one day a very interesting thing happened. Chetan was not able to find his hand phone. We searched the entire house but we were not able to locate it. We tried calling on the hand phone. It kept ringing but again we could not hear it.

Now imagine how anybody can hear the phone ringing, if it is buried under two pillows by Master. Atharv Arora. After some days, the similar story took place. But this time it was dadu’s mobile phone. So by now we were used to finding different things under the bedsheet or pillow.

One more interesting episode, where Atharv asked for few ice cubes, he took those ice cubes and hide it under the pillow. It was Atharv’s best kept secret. After some time, Atharv remembered about his hidden treasure. When he went back in search of the treasure (ice), guess what he didn’t find a thing. Poor baby came to Mumma crying and took me towards his bed. Initially I was wondering why was he crying but then realised the story of Solid turning to liquid and that’s the reason why my baby was crying. I kissed him, hugged, wanted to laugh but didn’t laugh coz my baby was crying. Then I gave him fresh ice cubes. Still he didn’t learn his lessons. Again the ice cube went underneath the pillow.

This time we waited for Ice cube to melt in front of our eyes and showed him what happened. He didn’t look convinced and started crying over melted ice cubes. I again had to give him a fresh ice cubes.

Similar way a bowl of dal was also under the pillow one day. IMAGINNNNNNEEEEEEE!
