First day at School

This morning, I softly opened your door

Reluctant to rouse you from sleep

Your black hair all tousled from a little boy's dream

And your body curled up in heap.

For a stolen moment standing there at your door

My mind reached back into time

To a little blue bundle cuddled up in my arms

And gentle hints of nursery rhyme.

Was it not a mere yesterday

That you were learning how to walk

And I know that it was just last week

We were teaching you to talk.

But somehow, I managed to waken you

To your breakfast waiting there

I dressed you in your finest clothes

And I carefully combed your hair.

Oh little boy, I love you so

And I felt like such a fool

To be so hesitant to let go of you

On your very first day of school.

My boy is my perfect angel

Atharv must have observed me applying nail polish, dont know when? and see what he did.

The other day when I was reading some book. He opened the drawer of my dressing table, picked up black nail polish, asked me to stretched my feet and guess what? he started applying nail polish on my feet (nails) with perfect concentration. I still can't get over that precious moments. I love you my boy, you are my world. Muahhh! One more best moment of my life and I am sure many more to come.

Mumma Papa

Atharv my darling

Two tiny feet running around, a giggle, a loud contagious laugh and a house full of toys is what I remember when I sit in my office and think of Atharv. He is my stress buster and key to all my happiness. My baby is an absolute charmer.

His ways of calling us is too cute. He calls in his own style by stressing our names like mammmmaa, Papppaaa, Indu Dadddi, Aaayiiii, Dadoooo. It is his signature style. He has started imitating us so much. I can give loads of examples:

Once papa was searching for screw driver (which Atharv calls tight) and he called mummy by her name (Indu) twice. Papa was his hall along with Atharv and mummy was in bedroom. Atharv immediately ran in the bedroom and said, “Indu, Dado tight chahiye please”. Before running to the bedroom, he kept saying Indu! Indu! .

Atharv has started calling Chetan, Chikka and we all love it.

When he goes to school (even for two hours) I miss him so much if I am at home. Whenever I am at home I make sure to wake up early cook breakfast, lunch and dinner much in advance so that i can spend more time with him. Chetan, Atharv and I finish our breakfast by 9 am and then I spend entire day playing with him.

My house has become a complete heaven with Atharv around. He has made Chetan and me more mature. He completes our family. I can’t imagine my life without life.

Love you my son. Muuuuahhhhh

This is what I believe

It's not only children who grow. Parents do too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can't tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it, myself. ~Joyce Maynard
