Festivals of lights - My sons first Diwali

The magnificent five days long jubilation of Diwali celebrations is marked by multi-colored Rangoli designs, special pooja ceremonies, lines of lamps, floral decorations, fireworks, exchange of Diwali sweets and Diwali Gifts that lend grandeur to the Occasions. My son's first Diwali shine with the glow of twinkling diyas to welcome Lakshmi, Goddess of wealth and prosperity.

We decorated entire house with lights and Kandil. There were celebrations all around. The first day of Diwali, Dhanteras was on Thursday and Saturday was Lakshmi Puja. The rangoli design is the symbolic and hence previous light at around 12.30am I started making Rangoli which got over at 2.30am.

Early morning on Laksmi Puja day, we wished everybody. Atharv got special treatment since it was his first Diwali. We visited Aayi's house for yummy Maharashtrian lunch.

In the evening, I decorated the house with diyas almost everywhere in the house. Atharv was going crazy looking at so many lights and diyas around him. I made lakshmi's foot prints and hand prints in the house with vermillion. Chetan was helping in Puja preparation and Atharv was crying aloud, so his Dadaji took him out for a walk.

After one and half hour long Puja, we did aarti and everybody had fun. Atharv was listening carefully. We distributed prasad to everybody.

Atharv hogged on Coconut laddu. Once he quitely went to the puja area, picked up Kaju katli and started eating.

We all had loads of fun.
