Total eclipse

My son witnessed 21st century’s longest solar eclipse on July 22. A life time opportunity.

The total eclipse lasted 6 minutes and 44 seconds, making it the longest eclipse till 2132. “The eclipse began at 5.28 a.m. (IST) when the shadow of the moon touched the earth at local sunrise point in the Arabian Sea, close to the western coast of India. The eclipse ended at 10.42 a.m. (IST) when the moon’s shadow finally leaves the earth at local sunset point in the South Pacific Ocean,” said an official at the Ministry of Science and Technology.

People in parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and northeastern state were able to watch the total eclipse while other parts of the country will witness a partial eclipse. The next solar eclipse will occur Jan 15, 2010.

I have noted down this information on Atharv's blog so that he knows that he was 8 1/2 months old when this phenomenon took place.

Atharv completes 8 months

Every day is a surprise!

Last month on June 9th, Atharv got his two teeth. Today, when he completed 8 months, we saw two more teeth (whiteline) coming out.How exciting is that!

We wre going to meet my Mamaji

Today it was raining very heavily, but we had already decided that we have to visit my Mama's place (in Chembur). My mamaji is very old and cannot travel to Kandivali to see Atharv. Hence, we decided to take Atharv to Chembur.

\The whether was very bad, at 1pm, the day almost looked like the sun has already set. We managed to reach Mama's place He was very very happy to see Atharv. We left immediately after having lunch. Atharv got scared a bit as it was raining heavily.
